3D Slicer

3D Slicer is a free and open source software package for visualization and image analysis. 3D Slicer is natively designed to be available on multiple platforms, including Windows, Linux and Mac Os X.

Slicer is an open community platform created for the purpose of subject specific image analysis and visualization.

  •     Multi-modality imaging including, MRI, CT, US, nuclear medicine, and microscopy
  •     Multi organ from head to toe
  •     Bidirectional interface for devices
  •     Expandable and interfaced to multiple toolkits

3D Slicer consists of more than over a million lines of code, mostly C++. This massive software development effort has been enabled by the participation of several large scale NIH funded efforts, including the NA-MIC, NAC, BIRN, CIMIT and NCIGT communities. The funding support comes from several federal funding sources including NCRR, NIBIB, NIH Roadmap, NCI, NSF and the DOD as well as others.
