DH Kicks Off Open Source Steering Group

Last Tuesday saw a quiet but extremely important event take place in Vantage House Leeds - the creation of an initial steering group for UK healthcare open source software adoption and development.

The initiative has some seed funding from Technology Strategy Board and resources supplied by York University. DH Informatics Directorate are interested because they have some IP which they want to put into open source under an appropriate license, probably Apache or CDDL to allow developers to embed the IP into their own software...
