FierceGovernmentIT FOIAs OMB TechStat Meeting Info

David Perera | Fierce Government IT | October 31, 2010

When earlier this year Federal Chief Information Officer Vivek Kundra began touting a series of Office of Management and Budget-led reviews of agency technology programs dubbed "TechStat," we were curious to know more.

Unfortunately, our requests for an interview went unanswered. So, we filed a Freedom of Information Act request, hoping to learn what we could through a look at the primary documents. Most of what we received was redacted beyond use, but since we had asked for meeting attendance sheets, we got lists of invited participants to what we presume is every TechStat meeting held between January and Aug. 4 of this year.

The lists don't say whether invited participants actually showed up, but OMB classified every listed person as an "organizer," as a "required" attendee or an "optional" attendee. The lists also included the agency system under review. We've reproduced those lists chronologically below; click on a link to go to a page with the listed attendees. Personnel are listed in the order they appeared on the documents supplied to us.
