Opensource.com Publishes 18 Interviews with Speakers of the Upcoming OSCON Conference

For those of you who have not noticed yet, the folks at Opensource.com just completed the publication of an entire series of interviews with speakers at the upcoming O/Reilly OSCON conference. This conference is one of the most important and interesting open source conferences of the year and the wide variety of interviews conducted which show the depth and breadth of the conference topics. `

Below is an overview of the OSCON conference by Jen Wike together with a list of the interviews. As many of our readers may have noticed, we have reprinted some of the interviews already in Open Health News. We focused on those interviews we though would be of the greatest interest to our readers. Over the past year we have developed a working relationship with Opensource.com and come up with a reciprocal publishing arrengement by which we are able to republish some of the articles that appear in Opensource.com that we think will be of interest to our readers, and vice versa.

And I have to add, Opensource.com is doing a terrific job and all of our readers should make sure to check on their web site on a regular basis for really great articles on every open source topic imaginable. I have had the most contact with Jason Hibbets and Jen Wike, who lead a fabulous team of writers and editors and they have developed a great community of contributors who provide content for the site.

Without more ado, here is Jen Wike's write up on the interviews. In addition to the individual links to each interview, Opensource.com has also put all the interviews together as a free eBook that can be downloaded here.

The O'Reilly Open Source Convention—or OSCON, as it's popularly known—is one of the world's premier open source events. For more than a decade, open-minded developers, innovators, and business people have gathered for this weeklong event, which explores cutting edge developments in the open source ecosystem. The event will be held from July 20 - July 24 at the Oregon Convention Center in Portland.

And, Opensource.com will be there! We'll cover the keynote sessions, talk with industry thought leaders, and be tweeting about our adventures @opensourceway.

For the last two weeks, Opensource.com has published a series of 18 interviews with speakers at OSCON 2014. Our writers asked them things like:

  • Why choose open source?
