NIH/CIBC Biomedical Research Software
Home Page:
The Center for Integrative Biomedical Computing (CIBC) at the University of Utah has developed a number of free and open source biomedical research software tools. These include:
- SCIRun is a Problem Solving Environment (PSE) for modeling, simulation and visualization of scientific problems.
- BioMesh3D is a tetrahedral mesh generator capable of generating multi-material quality meshes out of segmented biomedical image data.
- Seg3D is a free volume segmentation and processing tool.
- ImageVis3D is a new volume rendering program, also available on iPhones.
- Map3D is a scientific visualization application written to display and edit complex, three-dimensional geometric models and scalar, time-based data associated with those models.
- ShapeWorks software provides a new method for constructing compact statistical point-based models of ensembles of similar shapes that does not rely on any specific surface parameterization.
Their work has been largely funded by the National Institutes of Health (NIH).
