OSEHRA 2012: 1st Annual Open Source EHR Summit & Workshop to Discuss Innovations in EHRs and Health IT

NATIONAL HARBOR, Md., Oct. 11, 2012 /PRNewswire/ --The Open Source Electronic Health Records Agent (OSEHRA), a nonprofit organization established under an agreement between the Department of Veterans Affairs and the Department of Defense dedicated to accelerating innovation in electronic health record software and open source software practices, will host the 1st Annual Open Source EHR Summit & Workshop on Wednesday, Oct. 17th and Thursday, Oct. 18th. The Summit will feature more than 30 eminent panelists and speakers, including government officials, health care leaders, clinical care providers and policymakers as they engage with attendees from the public and private sector.

Topics will include:

  • Best practices in open source software development
  • The future of open source software and EHRs
  • Trends in the open source software industry
  • An open source approach to Veterans Health Care
  • The interoperability and testing of open source EHRs
