VA-DoD Integrated Health App Coming, Says VA Official

The Veterans Affairs and Defense departments are working on a mobile application that will complement the integrated electronic health record, said Kathleen Frisbee, director of web and mobile solutions at VA.

"We are doing work with the IPO on a VA-DoD mobile app that will be able to pull data from both DoD and VA and display it on a mobile application as well as our mobile application environment, which is a big part of what we've done," said Frisbee during a June 20 AFCEA Bethesda breakfast.

App development at VA is done in a cloud-hosted environment by registered developers; this brings transparency and collaboration to the development environment, said Frisbee. The Navy is now using VA's development environment as well, she said.
