Personal Genome Project
The Personal Genome Project (PGP) is a collaborative research endeavor involving scientists from around the world. The project is run by PersonalGenomes.Org is committed to sharing resources with the scientific community and the general public, so that people may collaborate in ways that have not been possible before.
PGP participants volunteer to share their DNA sequences, medical information, and other personal information with the research community and the general public for the benefit of society. The plan is to incrementally expand enrollment to 100,000 informed participants. This initiative is described on its web site as an 'open research' project.
