One of most exciting presentations at the VistaEXPO 2011 conference was given by Robert Wentz, Hospital Administrator and CEO of Oroville Hospital, a regional hospital in the beautiful mountains of Northern California. Oroville Hospital has achieved a whole series of milestones in close partnership with the VistA community. These range from a full implementation of VistA in the hospital and most of its 20 clinics, to the achievement of full meaningful use certification.
OSEHRA 2012: Major VistA Code Contributions Announced During Summit
The open source VistA community took a giant leap in collaboration during the recently concluded 1st Annual OSEHRA Summit and Workshop, as several of the major players announced they were contributing key enhancements to the open source community. The day before the conference, leading VistA solution providers, Medsphere and DSS announced they were contributing major VistA modules to Open Source Electronic Health Record Agent (OSEHRA). Then, during conference presentations, AEGIS announced they were releasing a major integration and testing toolset. And just previous to the conference, KRM Associates contributed their open source personal health record (PHR), HealtheMe, to OSEHRA.

OSEHRA 2013: VA CIO Stephen Warren Lays out Open Source Strategy at the VA During Summit
The U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs (VA) is launching a series of an initiative to fully embrace and leverage its open source strategy, according to Stephen Warren, the Acting Chief Information Officer (CIO). Warren, who gave the keynote presentation at the 2nd Annual OSEHRA Summit, in Behesda, Maryland, laid out in great detail the steps the VA is taking. These include fully embracing OSEHRA as the open source code repository, developing intake mechanisms so the VA can bring VistA enhancements from the private sector into the VA, following recommendations made by the iEHR team to standardize all core VistA modules, migrating all servers to Linux, and standardizing all development on open source tools. OSEHRA Releases popHealth v6.0
The Open Source Electronic Health Record Alliance (OSEHRA)...is pleased to announce the release of Version 6.0 of the popHealth open source clinical quality measure database and reporting engine. This new release is certified for the 2015 Edition Health IT Module certification for Clinical Quality Measure (CQM) reporting criteria...This release is the culmination of collective efforts by members of the OSEHRA popHealth Steering Work Group and the Developer Open Source Project Group. In particular, the Alabama Medicaid Agency provided all of development resources to achieve the certification for the 2019 performance period. Organizational Members Medsphere, Oroville Hospital, and Zato Health collaborated with other organizations in the community to provide expert advice and testing support.
