The 2018 OSEHRA Open Source Summit is now 100 days away! This means the deadline to submit abstracts for consideration is [Wednesday, April 18, 2018]. All proposals are due by midnight EDT. All are encouraged to participate and share their advancements, findings, and experiences with the greater open source and health IT community. OSEHRA at the 2019 AFCEA Health IT Summit
OSEHRA is pleased to return as an exhibitor and community sponsor for AFCEA Bethesda's 11th Annual Health IT Summit. OSEHRA Releases Enhanced ViViaN™ Visualization Toolset
OSEHRA is pleased to announce a new version of our ViViaN™ visualization toolset. OSEHRA’s VistA Cross Reference (DOX) pages have gotten a great deal of positive feedback from VistA users/developers inside and outside of VA. However, it didn’t capture some of the more obscure package dependencies, and there was no ability to export reports. VA needed both capabilities to assist with internal development efforts, and funded a set of enhanced capabilities. The new version not only directly addresses VA’s requirements, but will also benefit the entire community.

OSEHRA Releases Major Upgrade to popHealth with version 4.0
OSEHRA is excited to announce the release of v4.0 of popHealth®. This is the first major release since v3.0 was transitioned to the OSEHRA popHealth community in 2014. The v4.0 release is a significant update to the original reference implementation that provides for basic Meaningful Use (MU) quality measure reporting. “This advanced version of popHealth is a great asset for the open source community,” said Dr. Seong K. Mun, President and CEO of OSEHRA. “Not only does it exhibit technical expertise and innovation, but even more significantly, it demonstrates the momentous success of our diverse, collaborative community.”

OSEHRA Releases popHealth v6.0
The Open Source Electronic Health Record Alliance (OSEHRA)...is pleased to announce the release of Version 6.0 of the popHealth open source clinical quality measure database and reporting engine. This new release is certified for the 2015 Edition Health IT Module certification for Clinical Quality Measure (CQM) reporting criteria...This release is the culmination of collective efforts by members of the OSEHRA popHealth Steering Work Group and the Developer Open Source Project Group. In particular, the Alabama Medicaid Agency provided all of development resources to achieve the certification for the 2019 performance period. Organizational Members Medsphere, Oroville Hospital, and Zato Health collaborated with other organizations in the community to provide expert advice and testing support.

OSEHRA Releases Upgrade to popHealth for the 2018 Clinical Quality Measure Reporting Criteria
The Open Source Electronic Health Record Alliance (OSEHRA) announced today the release of the Version 5.1 of the popHealth® open-source clinical quality measure database and reporting engine. The new release maintains its 2015 Edition Health IT Module certification for Clinical Quality Measure (CQM) reporting criteria: (c)2-4, (d)1-3, (g)4, and (g)5 for the Calendar Year 2018 performance period. This release is the culmination of collaborative efforts by members of the OSEHRA popHealth Steering Work Group and the Developer Open Source Project Group. In particular, the Alabama State Medicaid committed significant development resources to achieve the attestation certification for the 2018 performance period.

OSEHRA To Hold Innovation Webinar on Open Source Clinical Quality Tools
OSEHRA is going to be holding a special one-hour Innovation Webinar tomorrow as part of the National Health IT Week. The focus will be on open source applications and tools that are gaining traction for clinical quality measures. Well known and very mature is popHealth. The webinar participants will discuss the latest upgrades in version 5.0 of the software. They will also present a new entrant into the field. That would be the Cedar project, an open source tool for testing the strength of Electronic Clinical Quality Measure (eCQM) collection systems that receive Quality Reporting Document Architecture (QRDA) files.

popHealth
popHealth® is an Open-Source Clinical Quality Measure database and reporting engine with data presented through a web-based interface. It includes a centralized repository of clinical data. Data is sent from EHRs via nationally recognized standards such as Consolidated Clinical Data Architecture (C-CDA) Continuity of Care (CCD) Documents or QRDA (Quality Reporting Data Architecture) Cat 1 Documents.

We have recorded a robust year of growth during 2014 and have laid a solid foundation for market expansion in 2015. OSEHRA corporate membership doubled during 2014. Corporate Members include large, medium and small corporations, nonprofits, academic institutions and international organizations that are leaders in health information technology...our primary open source electronic health record product, VistA, was rated by a MedScape survey as the most preferred EHR by physician users again in 2014. Further, our corporate members collaborate on policy, marketing, education and software initiatives. OSEHRA 2018 Open Source Summit
The Open Source Electronic Health Record Alliance (OSEHRA) will host its 7th Annual Open Source Summit: The Open Road for Government Innovation from Wednesday, July 18 through Friday, July 20, 2018 at the Bethesda North Marriott Hotel and Conference Center. This year’s three-day Summit will highlight open source initiatives across Federal and State agencies, and the increasing level of public-private partnership in major programs. It will also explore emerging hybrid proprietary/open source efforts such as the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs' Electronic Health Record Modernization (EHRM) and how to optimize open source utilization and community involvement.
