From July 10-12, the World Bank hosted the second International Open Government Data Conference (IOGDC) in Washington D.C. The event, co-organized by Data.gov, the World Bank Open Data Initiative and the Open Development Technology Alliance, convened innovators, policy makers, technologists, NGOs, and private sector organizations to talk about challenges and opportunities related to putting open data to work.

If you couldn’t attend the conference in person, check out the video archive below (from http://live.worldbank.org/international-open-government-data-conference-2012-liveblog-webcast). Steve Davenport, Development Gateway’s Senior Director for Business Development, Innovation, and Partnerships, participated in a panel discussion on Engagement around Open Data, which you will find under “Preston, July 11, Policy Track.” Fellow panelists included Nathaniel Heller of Global Integrity, Development Gateway’s partner in the forthcoming OpenGov Hub. Other panelists were Shauneen Furlong of Territorial Communications, and Mikel Maron of Ground Truth Initiative.
