Acquia To Open Portland Tech Center, Add 20 Jobs

A Boston company with a fresh round of venture capital is tapping into Portland’s open source software expertise to make the city home to a new technical center.

Burlington, Mass.-based Acquia on Tuesday is announcing plans to expand its 10-person Portland office by as many as 20 people as it moves to a new 3,500-square-foot office in Old Town/Chinatown.

Acquia, which makes tools used by enterprise-level developers using the open-source Drupal Web publishing platform, ranked No. 8 this year on Inc. Magazine’s list of the 500 fastest-growing companies, with 2011 revenue of $21.8 million.
