The government community will miss Baker’s leadership and charisma.
Roger Baker recently announced his plans to leave the federal government and take a position with Agilex, a government contractor. Baker has been a pioneer in government technology since 1998, when he joined the Commerce Department as CIO. In his most recent federal role, Baker served as the assistant secretary for information and technology for the Veterans Affairs Department, where he oversaw 7,500 IT employees and managed a budget that exceeded $3 billion. He was nominated for the position by President Obama and was confirmed by the Senate in 2009.
