HIT Policy Committee Urged To Expand Stage 3 Data Exchange
Joseph Goedert | Health Data Management | December 2, 2013
In a letter to the HIT Policy Committee of stakeholders that advise federal officials, eight organizations urge the committee to include patient generated data from remote monitoring devices in requirements for Stage 3 of the EHR meaningful use program.
The letter is similar to one that four groups--American Telemedicine Association, Association for Competitive Technology, Continua Health Alliance and Telecommunications Industry Association--recently sent to leaders of the House Ways and Means and Senate Finance Committees. Now, four other groups--Center for Data Innovation, Healthcare Information and Management Systems Society, IHE USA and Wireless-Life Sciences Alliance--also signed the letter to the HIT Policy Committee.
