On Thursday, July 9, the Open Data Institute (ODI) celebrated its second annual Open Data Awards, at Bloomberg London, celebrating a generation of network thinkers who are changing the world with open data. Awarded by ODI Co-founders, Sir Tim Berners-Lee and Sir Nigel Shadbolt, 300 delegates convened to recognise today’s open data champions creating real world impact. DocGraph Launches Linea
DocGraph is launching a new web based portal Linea (http://www.docgraph.org/linea) to enable the health data science community to discover, aggregate and enrich new open healthcare datasets. DocGraph Linea is based on technology developed and contributed by Merck (known as MSD outside the United States and Canada). DocGraph Linea will provide data scientists a socially-enabled community open data platform that collects details about disparate healthcare datasets, and further allows the community to extend what data is available. Users will be able to search datasets, understand data lineage, view relationship matrices, add metadata, and see community algorithms.

tranSMART Foundation i2b2 Symposium Announced for June 23 at Harvard Medical School
The tranSMART Foundation...today announced that it has joined forces with the Harvard Medical School (HMS) Department of Biomedical Informatics (DBMI) to host the tranSMART Foundation i2b2 (Informatics for Integrating Biology and the Bedside) Symposium on June 23, 2016 at HMS. The all-day meeting, beginning at 8:00 a.m. with registration and the program running from 8:30 a.m. -5:30 p.m., will focus on the integration between and use of the tranSMART platform for translational medicine and the i2b2 platform.
